Harvard Allston Partnership Fund continues to support GPA

Gardner Pilot Academy is one of nine local nonprofits selected to receive funding through the Harvard Allston Partnership Fund. GPA staff and students attended a special ceremony at the Honan-Allston Branch Library on March 2, along with Harvard President Drew Faust and Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, who announced the grant winners.

HAPF supports after-school, summer school and adult education classes at GPA.

GPA got a special “shout-out” in coverage of the announcement on boston.com today:

“While the presence of Menino and Faust, along with elected officials and nonprofit leaders, clearly energized the room, it was the Gardner Pilot Academy’s (GPA) physical education instructor Donnell Stoute, better known as ‘Mr. D,’ and his two young counterparts who stole the show.” Read the full story.

Congratulations to fourth graders Aaliyana Abraham and Andre Robinson, who spoke about the value of the after-school and summer school programs that HAPF funding supports. Great job!
