GPA/YMCA After School program selected as statewide model

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has named the Gardner Pilot Academy/YMCA After School Program a 21st Century Community Learning Center demonstration site.

GPA is one of only three schools in Boston and only 13 statewide to be chosen as a demonstration site. The distinction was earned after five years of successful work as a promising practice site and three years as an exemplary practice site for innovative after school programming. As a result, GPA has earned federal funds to help support the after school program, and the school will serve as a model and mentor for other schools across the Commonwealth.

We are grateful to our tremendous partner in this work, the YMCA of Greater Boston, and we applaud all of the staff, partners, families, and students who have worked so hard to make the program such a great success!
