“Put Your Hands Up for GPA” another great success!

THANK YOU!

Our annual fundraiser was a tremendous success. More than 100 GPA parents, staff, partners, and friends gathered at Harvard Business School on May 18 for the 4th annual “Put Your Hands Up for GPA!” We were particularly honored to be joined by John McDonough, Interim Superintendent of the Boston Public Schools.

Thanks to the generosity of our guests, the silent auction, live auction, and 50/50 raffle were a great success, raising more than $20,000 for our school! Proceeds from the event benefit innovative enrichment programs at GPA, including educational field trips, Friday arts program, and out-of-school time opportunities. The “fund-a-need” portion of the evening alone raised $7,500, enough to provide scholarships for 15 students to attend our five-week summer academy at no cost.

If you were unable to attend, it’s not too late to make a tax-deductible donation to sustain GPA’s full-service schools model. We hope to raise at least an additional $5,000 to enable 10 more students from low-income families to attend the summer academy.

At the event, we were proud to debut a new student-produced video about what makes GPA such a special school:
