The 3rd annual Gardner Pilot Academy Walk-a-thon will take place on Wednesday, April 4, with a rain date of Thursday, April 5. This fun event is both a fundraiser and an opportunity to promote health and wellness in the GPA community. Students and families are invited to collect pledges to support physical activity programs offered at GPA through Playworks. Boston Partners in Education highlighted Gardner Pilot Academy in a blog post about its Power Lunch program, featuring an interview with Lauren Fogarty, Director of Extended Learning Time at GPA. Power Lunch brings volunteers from Abt Associates, The Bulfinch Companies, and Genzyme Corporation to the school every week to read to and mentor first-third grade students.

Peoples Bank supports social justice education at GPA

Peoples Federal Savings Bank recently donated $5,000 to Gardner Pilot Academy to support social justice projects at the school.  The funds will purchase read-aloud books for classrooms focused on culturally responsive teaching and social justice topics.
