Gardner Pilot Academy is fortunate to have a strong cadres of volunteers — including parents, neighbors, artists, business people, college students and others — who visit the school on a regular basis to spend time with students, organize activities and events, and assist with administrative tasks.
GPA is one of nine Boston public elementary schools that participate in Boston Partners in Education’s Power Lunch program. Power Lunch matches students in grades 1-3 once a week with volunteer mentor readers, including professionals from Abt Associates, Harvard Real Estate, Bullfinch Companies, and Genzyme.
Harvard University provides GPA with frequent volunteers, including the Harvard Tutoring Program with students from Harvard Business School and volunteer days through the Institute of Politics.
